PostSubject: Do you have lag?   Sun Jul 31, 2011 8:07 am

EDITED

Some network commands

set rate "AMOUNT";
ADD "Try 25000 for a LAN, a figure between 25000 and 62000 for broadband, and 5500 for modems.
"
set snaps "20";

set cl_maxpackets "AMOUNT";[/i]
ADD "Try 100 for a LAN, 60 for broadband, and 30 for modems."

set cl_timenudge "0";

set com_maxfps "AMOUNT";

Values are 43, 76, 125, 333

(ยง) Console way

/rate AMOUNT
/snaps AMOUNT
/cl_maxpackets AMOUNT
/cl_timenudge AMOUNT
/com_maxfps AMOUNT

Also you can modify other settings for better performance

(set) cg_atmosphericeffects 0
- this will turn off/on rain/snow effects.

(set) r_detailtextures 0
- setting this to 0 gives you good FPS boost and worse look.

(set) com_hunkmegs 128
- it's like memory you let game to use, some big maps might require bigger amount.

Hope these help!

Really nice guide for beginners and people who don't know why they lag and how to get the lag off. Good job =)

Pointing to the /com_maxfps thing, if you want to see what your FPS (Frames per second) is, do /cg_drawfps 1

If you put 125 (which is the highest you are allowed to get) and it shows 100, less or it's jumping from 100 to 125 then you should use 76 or something other that is stable, because with stable fps it's easier to shoot than with unbalanced.

true that Smile

think its best u take like : 30 , 45 , 75 , 100 or 125.
depends on ur pc. these are like the best amounts of fps u can put .( when u have probs with lagg).

i know from call of duty , that ur allow to get like to 333 in jump servers and 250 in normal .
but it is limited in et .... Very Happy

cheers

On tjmod you can/were able to use /com_maxfps 333 + /pmove_fixed 0 combination to jump bigger distance. I gues its blocked now, because tjmod is replaced with trickjumpmod. Like /pos /cg_resetvelocityonload 0 cheats too.

Just fixing my old post.. Position cmds & resetvelocity works on trickjump mod servers. ETJUMP or something was the new mod that doesn't support it.
